The Brassy 3 ¾” platewind direct drive 1-1 reel pillar gear and pawl design and was built as a throw back to the brass faced Hardy Perfect. They make great reels for Bamboo spey rods that need the weight to balance them. This reel is built with a brass face and a brass reel foot weighing in at 12 ounces. It works well on an 11' to 11'7" bamboo rod. I can easily make the reel heavier upon request for long bamboo rods. The reel default brass finish is a smooth brass but can optionally be ordered with a brushed finish with a straight ivorine handle.
The cage, and spool are available in silver, black, or green and the handle colors are black, Ivorine/Ivory, or wood composite (handles are either straight or flared). A long 3.5" brass reelfoot is available for an additional charge.
The reel pictured has the standard configuration: brass faceplate, silver cage, and spool with a ivorine/Ivory straight single handle. Case included.
